1. Using OpenRey
Rey operates openrey.com and develops ReyGame. These terms apply to the website, OpenRey accounts, release materials, and direct ReyGame purchases. By using these services, you agree to the terms that apply to them. If you do not agree, do not use the account, purchase, or download services. The Privacy Policy explains how personal information is handled.
2. Development status
Direct sales and current development downloads are paused while the engine is being reworked. Historic releases are experimental pre-alpha builds. Features, performance, system requirements, saves, and release plans may change. Roadmaps and previews describe development plans; they do not guarantee a release date or every planned feature.
3. Accounts and eligibility
Provide accurate account information, keep your password and recovery links private, and report suspected unauthorized access promptly. You can change your username or password in your profile and contact support for other corrections or deletion.
You must be legally able to accept these terms where you live. If parental or guardian permission is required, obtain it before using account or purchase services, where permitted by law. Payments must also meet the payment provider's eligibility requirements, and you must be authorized to use the payment method.
4. Acceptable use and account restrictions
Do not use the services for fraud, spam, harassment, unlawful activity, attacks, access to other people's accounts, or bypassing purchase and security controls. Respect other people's rights.
Rey may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address abuse, a security risk, or a breach of these terms. Contact support if you believe a restriction is mistaken. Restrictions remain subject to applicable law and your rights concerning purchased content.
5. Game license and content
When you lawfully receive ReyGame, you receive a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and play it on devices you control, subject to the license included with the release. A purchase grants the described access; it does not transfer ownership of the game's code, engine, or assets.
Do not redistribute, resell, sublicense, or publicly upload game files, or extract and resell proprietary assets, unless permitted by Rey, an applicable license, or law. You may share ordinary gameplay videos, streams, screenshots, and commentary. Separate licenses included with third-party components continue to apply to those components.
6. Direct purchases and delivery
When direct sales are available, the offer will state the content and access included, price, currency, applicable taxes or charges, system requirements, and delivery arrangements before payment. Buy based on that offer. Future features or updates are included only when expressly stated. No physical product is shipped.
PayPal may process payments. Direct access is confirmed after payment is verified and may be provided through your account, a launcher, or a download link as described in the offer. Contact support if a payment or delivery is missing.
7. Refunds and separate platforms
Direct purchases follow the Refund Policy and any mandatory consumer rights. Downloading content does not by itself remove rights that applicable law protects. A refund or payment reversal may affect the access associated with that payment.
Patreon memberships and purchases are handled separately under Patreon's terms and billing rules. Other linked services also have their own terms. Contact Rey through Patreon about membership charges or release access, and the relevant platform about its own service issues. Contact Rey about OpenRey or ReyGame issues.
8. Updates, saves, and availability
Experimental builds may contain bugs, change, or be replaced. Compatibility with every device or future version is not guaranteed. Back up important saves before updating; changes to the engine or save format may prevent older worlds from working.
Website and account access may be interrupted by maintenance or technical problems. Development changes do not remove delivery commitments or mandatory rights relating to a completed purchase.
9. Responsibility and your legal rights
Experimental and historic builds are provided as available, to the extent permitted by law. Rey cannot promise uninterrupted access, error-free software, or compatibility beyond what is stated in a purchase offer.
Where permitted by law, Rey is not responsible for indirect losses that could not reasonably have been foreseen. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, or removes mandatory consumer rights, including remedies for defective or misdescribed digital content.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms as the service changes. The date above shows the latest revision, and material changes will be communicated where required by law. Updated terms do not retroactively reduce the promises made for a completed purchase. Questions and disputes can be started through the support page.
